Womens Social Cycle 5th July 2025

The women’s social cycle will start at Corrimal Railway Station on Saturday 5 July 2025 at 10:30am.

Join the FB group Wild Women Rides for the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/2315359128859681

In this edition of our social cycles, we’ll be exploring the backstreets of Illawarra’s northern suburbs. Come discover quiet roads along the railway line between Corrimal and Bulli that are perfect for a cruisey ride. We’ll enjoy brunch together at The Fitz Bulli.

10:35am Meet at Corrimal Train Station

10:45am Depart Corrimal Train Station

11:15am Arrive The Fitz

12:15ish Return (you choose – catch train back from Bulli train station or cycle back)

The ride: The ride is 5km each way and is approximately 35m in elevation. We’ll take a relaxed pace of 10-15km/hr, so the ride will take about half an hour.

Meeting place: Meet on the western/mountain/Platform 1 side of Corrimal station at 10:35am. If you’re coming from the south/Wollongong, you’ll arrive on the correct side. If you’re coming from the north, you’ll need to swap station sides to meet us. For those that are driving, there is a car park; navigate to “Corrimal Station Parking 1”.

Safety considerations: Please bring a permitted bike (e.g. pedal-assisted e-bikes are ok) and a helmet in good working order. Learn more about permitted bikes: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/…/bicycle-riders/ebikes

By law, your bike must be fitted with a working horn or bell and at least one working brake. Learn more: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/…/road-rules-for…

Please consider getting cycling insurance. Membership of the Illawarra Bug Users Group (iBUG), which costs $5 per year, entitles you to a 15% discount off Bicycle NSW membership. Learn more: https://ibug.org.au/become-a-member/

What to bring:

– Bike and helmet in good working order

– Bike lock

– Warm jacket / windcheater

– Gloves / scarf / beanie

– Lip balm

– Water bottle

– Bike bags / panniers (if you’d like to pick up some goodies from Millers)

Tips:

– We won’t be riding by the coast this ride, but it can still get windy on a bike in in winter, so it’s a good idea to pack a wind cheater (and maybe even some gloves).

– Maybe pack a backpack or panniers so you can grab fresh bread from Millers’ Local Bakehouse which is next door to the Fitz.
